First week

So welcome to the 21st century I guess - and here we are blogging from Singapore. Bizarre.

The plan is to get this thing up and running with some pictures, bizarro experiences, and details of our travel exploits. With any luck we'll keep this thing relatively up to date.

First week recap:
Jet lag was substantial and even today I had to take a short nap - it's a rough life. Kyrsa did an awesome job selecting a flat, it's pretty new, very clean, bright and centrally located between the crazy shopping of Orchard road and the insanity of Little India. Singapore is very much Asia lite - compared to Bangkok or even the major cities of Japan, it's so western we might as well be in America, with one major exception - food. They don't lie when they say all is available and all is good here (especially the pig intestine soup) - and it's cheap.

Ok, that's all I can stomach at the moment. Much prosperity to you in the Year of the Rat.

Not sure about the pig intestine, but the chili stingray at the hawker markets is amazing! ~warfield

I love that I am a link on your blogroll! Can't wait to see the photos and read about the adventures.

Miss you kids already. I actually intentionally drove by your house on my way home the other night just to do a drive by 'check on it'. The house is good :)

while i haven't yet come across the chili stingray, that opinion has been validated by a few people. We did have the chili crab - it was great, but definitely note 'date' food!

Can't wait to hear more about your adventures! Say hi to Liz for me. And not sure if I mentioned this before I left, but locals will try to get you to eat something called Durian. Avoid it at all costs...unless you enjoy the taste of hot garbage.
