Durian - When you walk passed someone with an open Durian, the smell is like - well, how do I say this.... imagine you're in bangkok, at the hottest and most humid time of the day and you're standing next to one of the open sewers.... take a nice long sniff of that goodness and there you have the wonderful Durian fruit. btw I haven't tried it yet - I know, you're shocked. -Dave
Grandma says they Taste delicious- like little grapes inside but you have to have a native peel them because they smell so bad. She wishes you could send that heat over here- she is tired of the snow in Spokane. Remember to go to the old hotel- Raffles- for a Singapore Sling (cocktail) and the "midnight show in the alley"??? We had a great dinner but missed you so talked about you behind your back! Anita
Try them, they don't taste half as bad as they smell, Anthony Bourdain loves them...although he will eat anything. I've always heard them described as half feces/half rotting meat. Sound appetizing? I had some while in Thailand, wasn't too bad, don't know that I would search them out though!
I haven't seen a crouching tiger hidden bacon in months. Bread Talk is going downhill
Singapore's version of the Blue Angels flies around the city in formation several times a week. It was cool at first, but it's hard to have a conversation with 5 jets flying 500 feet above you -enough already.
Phone conversations with the indigenous - we're both speaking english yet neither understands. I think it may be worse than Scotland
When in Singapore learn to walk sloooooooooow
No one knows how to walk - you drive on the left you walk on the left!!!!

Them's some fines! They don't mess around with those things. And, um, what's a Durian? And why are they so bad?

Sarah wants me to tell you that she saw some Food Network show about durians. They kind of look like pufferfish.
I personally think it's a great way of insulting someone who is unfamiliar with this pinnacle of olafactory offensiveness.
